Your printer should have an IP address. Hook up the printer to it. Install JetAdmin to your NT server. Otherwise assign one. Exit JetAdmin. The following steps are not necessarily in the right order. We want all the computers to be able to print to the Brother printer. Just having an ip address isn't enough, the computer needs to know what to send to the printer at that ip address. It would be iffy, and might not work, but installing a rather generic printer driver or a driver for an older Brother printer , and having that print to the network address might work for you.
Joined Sep 11, Messages Just did this for a friend. Once it is connected to the network run the software off of the cd on each computer and it should find the printer just fine. Not sure about 98 though I would think it would work. Joined Jul 19, Messages 11, It should work if you can find drivers and print install utilities from Brother that still support Win9X.
So they needed that support to be installed with the printer software bundle. If you cannot find the full software bundle for Fake out the 98 machine by doing a local install of the printer, install it to LPT1.
