In some cases, it is possible that you have changed some settings on your computer which give rise to random WIFI disconnects with Windows 10, such as Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power. Once you choose to activate this setting, there is no doubt that Windows 10 loses network connection randomly. Right-click the network icon in the right corner of your Desktop, and then select Open Network and Sharing Center.
In Status window, drop-down the interface and find the Network and Sharing Center. Under Power Management , uncheck the box of choice — Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power and then click OK to save changes.
If you find the methods are useless for you to solve Internet is disconnecting intermittently on Windows 10, there is a tool always available for you-troubleshooter for network. In Troubleshoot , scroll down to locate Network Adapter and then hit Run the troubleshooter. Then Windows 10 will automatically troubleshoot your network errors and fix WIFI disconnects regularly for you.
Sometimes, for some people, to avoid Windows 10 network cutting out randomly, you need to reset WLAN config service. Reboot the router 3. Check with your ISP for known outages. The yellow triangle indicates that the problem is most likely between the NIC and the router. I would buy a new router ASAP when one goes on sale. Last edited: Nov 3, I have been checking my ip address, gateway, modem, etc.
I can connect to and stay connected to the internet without any problems, but, once in awhile usually when watching a video clip I will get the yellow triangle and everytime this happens its always the same thing, that the default gateway my router is not available. I even tried manually setting the default gateway to my router's ip address and that still didnt help.
It has to be my router either dying or not liking windows 7 for some reason because I have the same modem, router, and network adapter and ive never had this problem before. Oh well, I guess its just time for an upgrade! I had a similar issue in the past and I swapped out the switch and router, but the problem ended up being a bad network card.
Once I replaced the offending network card, I put the original router and switch back and everything worked fine. If you have an extra network card lying around, I'd recommend installing it to see if you might have the same problem.
Try disconnecting the router for a while and running the pc directly off the cable modem, that would hopefully help pinpoint the problem.. I see two potential hardware issues Onboard network - other than server boards, onboard network adapters are slow at best, and often fail without complete failure, leading to nearly impossible troubleshooting. The cat5 cable If it still looses connection, then you know you have a hardware issue.
KillerBug , Nov 5, Since you believe the issue started with a system manufacturer driver, let's try re-installing the driver provided directly by Intel. Please follow the steps in the link below to perform a clean installation:.
I've been away from the computer with issues and just got back earlier today. I'll try to perform a clean installation of the driver and will get back to you when I figure out whether the issue has been resolved.
Unfortunately, even after I did a clean install of the driver, I'm still experiencing the same issue. I am currently looking into this to see what other options we can try. Please allow me some time and I'll get back to you as soon as possible.
I can't test an ethernet connection right now, as my computer isn't located close to an accessible ethernet port. But the problem still persists after applying the first two steps you listed. I can try testing it on another network, but to my knowledge, this problem only occurs on one device. The network I've been using is 5. After testing the problem on a 2. I still have frequent drops in my connection to the internet. However, when I'm connected to the 2.
Only after trying to connect to the 5 GHz network I hope this provides some clarity as to what kind of problem we're dealing with. I appreciate you taking the time to provide me with all the information, I am now checking to see how we can proceed with this, please allow me some time.
I just wanted to provide you with some additional information in case it provides more clarity on the situation. It appears that whenever I try to manually reboot the WiFi adapter through the Device Manager, the system completely freezes, forcing me to reboot my computer.
This issue does not occur when the network troubleshooter tries to restart it. Additionally, I noticed that when I investigate the properties of the adapter while experiencing the problem, I'm given an error code 10 as well as the description "This device does not exist. I am also having issues again with the adapter on latest Windows Historically I have had the issues described going back to May
